Milan Kapadia
Legal Intern

As a legal intern for IIPI, Milan works with IIPI attorneys and other staff to provide research, logistical and writing support for various projects at the Institute.

Before joining IIPI, Milan worked as a patent agent at Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett & Dunner, LLP, where he drafted and prosecuted U.S. and foreign patent applications involving software, computer hardware, telecommunications, Internet technologies, and business methods.  Milan also worked as a patent examiner at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, where he examined patent applications relating to business methods and networking technologies. .Some of Milan’s research interests include IP law and software patents in developing countries, the intersection of IP law and human rights, traditional knowledge, and international IP protection.

Milan is currently a fourth year student at the George Washington University Law School and graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering.
