Phil Decker
Research Associate
Phil is responsible for assisting with IIPI’s program related research. In
addition to interning at IIPI in 2004, Phil developed expertise in international
intellectual property systems, treaties, and laws during his undergraduate study
of International Political Economy. He has written extensively on the TRIPS
Agreement, the role of variable technology change in economic growth, technology
transfer, and scale effects. Alongside his broad interest in the relationship
between IPRs and economic development, his special focus is on improving
biomedical research infrastructure worldwide.
Phil graduated from the University of Washington in Seattle summa cum laude in
International Political Economy from the Henry M. Jackson School of
International Studies, and with a B.S. in Microbiology from the University Of
Washington School Of Medicine.
